I have a friend that has a 1948 B.F. Avery model V. tractor with a Hercules engine and a Delco distributor. The distributor model # is: 1111715 7F16? He needs to find ignition points, condensor, rotor and dist. cap. Can someone out there tell me where is the best place to find these parts. Any answer will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Borg Warner has P/N A40H for the points and G102A for the condenser. Hal

I also have a 48 Avery V and I got all the ignition parts at NAPA. They actually listed the Avery and the correct ignition parts and they were all in stock.

If you haven't gotten anything more definite, I've some info that may or may not be helpful. A 50 Motor manual(generally covers 36-49) shows a "V" only built in 48, with a Herc ZXB-3 engine, a little 25/8x3 of 64.9 CI. But I've got a 59 Niehoff Ignition catalog that shows "V's" built 47-52, (6V, no Eng or dist ID shown), and a fan belt catalog that shows "V's" 45-50 (no engine shown)!! Try your local NAPA or Autozone or whatever larger parts store(s); if no luck email me and I'll send the Niehoff numbers shown and their DR matches, but I have no idea if they're for your unit.
