Don't fret about the odd operator's platform, with the steering wheel at the back. It was "farmerized"... reversed, with a loader mounted at the back.
The faded decals on the hood say "Co-op".

Any idea where the model and serial #'s would be, and which manufacturer made this series for the Co-ops?

It is indeed a Co-op D3 built in 1945 in the Co-op factory in Shelbyville, IN. 200 were built by special permission of a wartime food production board to help with the wheat harvest. These were the last tractors built by the National Farm Machinery Co-op. They had big block Chrysler flathead engines and 5-speed truck trans/rearends. They were an improved version of the #3 built in the late 30's. The s/n is stamped in the top of the frame on the right side near the rear sheet metal support. Sorry for the long story, but there is much mis-information on Co-ops out there. Reply and I can email much more. Would like to know about this tractor.

Looks like the hood and grill from a CO-OP D3. I
think they were built by Hetherington and Berner
Co. from Indianapolis just at the end of the war
in 1945 or 46. Very few of this model made and I
don"t think they made any reversed models. I"m
mostly guessing here, but probably used a New
Process rear assembly and a Chrysler motor. Could
be that it was made in the Sheblyville plant as
the National Farm Machinery Cooperative was build-
ing a new plant around then. Sorry I can"t be more
helpful but I"m more into newer CO-OPS/Cockshutts.

Unimog, can you meet me at pitybud@msn.com?? I"ve been trying to track the Chrysler engine, Dodge trk trans/diff original Co-op running gear design through Battle Creek, Shelbyville,Arthurdale, Minneapolis? etc into Custom, Lehr, Jumbo,(Simpsons Jumbo?)Wards, Rockol, Regal, Norseman, Friday (and probably more)(Custom mfg Co, Harry A Lowther et al) but nothing I found mentioned the Hetherington and Berner Co. Nor was I able to find where Co-ops were built during the war, despite there being pix/references to 42, 44 and 45 models.

I have NO idea how I did that, and have asked Kim if she can fix it!
