A "Chrysler" badged CO-OP/Custom ? has turned up in a collection in Yuma, AZ (posts and pix are on another site; details by email as I"m unsure mention is allowed). The owner is looking for info, and in my Co-op/Custom readings I"d found no mention of any "Chrysler" badged models.
The Customs were sold in Canada as Norseman, Rockol and Regal, and some have reported the Norseman and Regal were available thru Chrysler car/Dodge truck dealers in Canada.
The question is: does anyone here recall ever seeing, or hearing about, any Chrysler badged tractor, whether as a display model, a customised model or as a working model??? As usual with anything connected to CO-OP, any comments/memories appreciated. Many thxx!!

The Norseman tractors were actually re-badged OMC tractors, not CUSTOM. OMC stood for Ostenberg Manufacturing Company. The tractors did use Chrysler 6 cylinder engines.

Tinker: Many thxx for your taking time to correct me. I had seen a reference to Norseman being actually an OMC, but had forgotten it; I'll correct my notes.
Do you know if OMC sold more than one model as Norseman? My reason for asking is a reply on another forum saying a Norseman the poster had seen didn't have a Chrysler Ind engine. The references I've seen say only 30-50 Chrysler running gear models were built, and I wondered if there were other models too, as with Wards. Again, many thxx!

Antique Power magazine has done articles on these companies in the past. I'd suggest searching their website, and possibly ordering some back issues.

Love and Friday tractors also used Chrysler 6 cylinder engines.

Heres a picture I scanned of the Co-op tractor that my uncle drove for a while when he worked for a neighbour in the early 1940s. It had the Chrysler flathead six engine. Pulling a disk tiller working summerfallow.

Larry: Again, thxx for taking the time to reply. If you could come up with an email or snail mail adds for whoever keeps the Pull records I'd be happy to contact them directly (phone won't help, unless you're on the west coast; I'm retired, not overloaded with money, and try to avoid LD phoning, even at phone card rates). Or if you'd advise your geographic location, I can post on the website, craigslist or a local chat site for leads.
I forgot to mention in my last post that your desc matches the pix of the one in Yuma perfectly, so it appears it was some kind of a production model.

A fellow that comes to our pulls has one that has crysler on each side of the hood and has a small crysler emblem,i don't know if its oridinal or not. The old norseman did NOT look like all the other customs, they had exposed raditors no styleing,no grill and looked a lot like the old unstiled allis WC.From the pictures i have seen on the web that tractor allso had a differant engine. Mabe later models were like the customs, but not that one.

Larry: Many thxx for your help. I have no direct info re" Norseman models; my referring to them as being rebadged Co-ops/Customs came from other postings and references and could very well be wrong.
I would very much like to try to contact the owner of the Chrysler you mentioned, and would very much appreciate any ideas you might have as to any possible way to reach him, or to post a question in any forum he might see. Feel free to email any suggestions direct, to avaoid cluttering the forum.
And, again, many thxx.
