I have a Gutbrod 1032 tractor fitted with a mag engine. The engine has locked up .I have striped the engine down and found the crankshaft and big end bearings badly worn .I have had the crankshaft checked and it can not be repaired.

I am after a crankshaft with matched big end bearings or complete engine.
Any one know where i can get these parts from.
Any help or advice welcome.

Mark

Mark, What is meant by can not be repaired ? There is very little besides a cracked or broken core that can not be repaired .

Send me some pictures of the damage .

Hi, George
The crankshaft journal is worn , it measures approx 28mm .I have measured the inner diameter of the big end bearings ,which is approx 30mm with what looks like very little wear to the big end bearings.
I sent the crank shaft away to have the journal welded and reground . They were unable to weld the crankshaft due to a high carbon content in the steel of the crankshaft .

Hi George.

The big end of he con rod has two shells (bearings) so the con rod is ok .The two shell's show slight wear , they are steel with a white metal coating.

Mark,

I have fusible spray weld powder that I think

would fix your problem. Where are you located ?

Mark, I know that eutectic and postle both sold the equipment and materials in the UK , the trick is to find someone with them and willing to do the job. Send me an email with a picture of the damage, I'll look at it .
