This is my dad's old silverking. As you can see it was painted yellow and used by ODOT for highway mowing before my dad got it. It was bought by a guy my dad worked with with the intentions on restoring it. I might try to look him up some day and see whatever happened to it. I'm curious as to what model this silverking is?
I dont think it had hydraulics, as dad still has the 6v motor/hydro pump/lift cylinder combo for raising and lowering the deck. I remember as kids we'd play on it for hours. That back part was sooo huge to us behind the seat. I'd like to know more about it. It would be cool to own one, but my IH 300U take sup enough space as it is. If it wasnt for needing the loader and 3 point hitch, I'd probly try to get the silverking and sell the 300u, but that wont happen.

Thanks for any help guys!!

That is a Model 47 tractor. The tractor used a newer 162ci motor while using the older rearend setup. Many were made for the Ohio DOT

mom said she thought it was a year 47. I dont have the tractor or i'd have already provided the serial #.

I'll see if I can find anymore info. Does anyone know a good website with in depth info and pics on each model?

The serial numbers were on a plate on the clutch housing, lower left side.
This tractor looks like one that I have, a model 41, built in 1942. The earlier model 41, had the air cleaner mounted on the dash panel/firewall panel. In 1942, they were preparing to build the model 42, which had the engine mounted air cleaner. Yours looks like one built about change-over time.

You may want to read some history on these tractors. Hal

If that's the (Ohio/Oklahoma/Oregon) DOT ID number on the hood, somewhere the State's got the original purchase info; if you're still in the same area the mower was used the local State repair shop may well have info under that number...Good luck.

oh boy, that info is probably long gone. I have no idea how to get their number??? or moreso where the tractor was actually used. I'll see what I can find.

It has the newer grill and the muffler and intake go through the hood so it would be newer than 1940. Its hard to tell, but i guess the contintial engine and the smaller rear and trans so it should be a 3 number tractor. Something like a 440.
