My brother in law and I, recently purchased a Ditch Witch R60 that has the a four cylinder Wisconsin engine. We know nothing about ,not even the year it was built. Anyone know a good site to go to for repair discussions & advice?

hi jake, hope you are still here--- i just bought the same thing---an r60 ditch witch--going to pick it up next week, and in the mean time i've been looking for any info on it, and like you, i'm not having any luck, its almost like there was no such animal---and then i run across your post (QUITE BY ACCIDENT) and there must have been at least two r60s built, cause we have them--- have you found anything yet? THANK YOU

Hi Lynn, I apologize for the very late reply. I had actually given up on this web site. I just stumbled on it again. I have had no luck whats so ever on parts. So far the R-60 is still running. Well I think so I took the battery out for the winter. I think you are right about having the only two R-60 made. We are going to need a new digger chain this spring. I'm hoping to find one more reasonable price than our authorized Ditch Witch Dealer. ($1500 just for chain). Thanks for the reply sorry I'm no help. Jake Clark

Dad has an R65. It is a good machine.

He and my brother overhauled it pretty reasonably - not sure where they bought the engine parts.

They've bought a lot of items from Ditch Witch - like the chain, etc...

It is really quite a reliable machine. We've dug a ton of trenches with it - up to 15" wide with chain extensions for laying 10" & 12" water line.

What are you after exactly??

Howard

I thought Buckeye Ditcher had a model called a Ditch Witch, but couldn"t find anything in my sketchy notes. Looks like you have one of the Charles Machine Works Ditch Witch Trenchers; Can"t help any, the only listings I have show no years and only say "60HP eng". Their website is ditchwitch.com, and there"re a number of posts re various models in the archives here. Good luck.
