After recently acquiring a howard rotavator for restoration i am stumped on what kind of engine it actually is. I believe the rotavator is a bantam but have been searching sites to find what kind of engine. Above the flywheel it says "AC120" and on the otherside there is an unreadable stamp. something "chrome". Can anyone help?

If you could post a picture we could id it. chrome molly is seen on some engines that had piston rings made from that stuff. Its a very hard ring people claim they are hard to seat if your cylinder isn't perfect.

Can only find one brief listing for Howard Rotovators (in 79 gasket catalog); it lists:
Bantam: Clinton 1200
Gem TF: Wisconsin TF
Gem AEN and Yeoman: Wisconsin AEN
No years are shown for any...I have nothing on Clinton engines as to ID help; the TF is a 2cyl, but I have nothing on the AEN (not to be confused with the AEM, a different engine). HTH.
