For Terry H

I saw your message on Yesterdays Tractor Forum about your Davis task force 300. I recently purchased an old farm and discovered the same trencher behind the barn. I am trying to get it running, but the battery is missing, and without a manual I cannot even tell if it is 6 volt or 12 volt. If you can tell me what size battery your uses, or even just what voltage I would be very grateful. Also, how many pages is your manual? Would you be interested in photocopying or scanning it for me? (scan and e-mail preferred). If so, how much could I pay you for the trouble of doing it?

Thank you very much

Ryan

A couple suggestions on the 6V-12V question:
If it has any lights, pull a bulb; they're all marked. If you've been around 6V stuff, you'll remember the "fatter" wiring--6V needed heavier wire; the 12V wiring is generally much skinnier. Good luck.

Look on the Trencher for a generator and get the model number. May be able to tell the voltage. Hal

Hal

GOOD IDEA! I am now guessing it is a 12 V system since the number is A12N-451. Also looks more like an alternator than a generator.
Thank you for the suggestion.

Also hoping that Tom (or anyone else) will see my question and let me know about a manual I could pay them to copy.

Ryan
