Fiat owns the UTB plant in Romania and many of the Italian Fiat built parts are the same as the UTB built parts.

didnt get the temp as i dont have a laser but excess oil and sludge on outside of the housing started smoking and havent seen that on any other tractor so i figured it was more hot than need be..went and checked it this weekend and it was low on fluid i guess didnt see a dipstick or where to check couldnt reach oil with finger in the housing so i added a gallon and havent had a chance to run again..thanks for your input

Sounds like it could be the relief not opening. It should put a little strain on the engine if so. Also check the remote valve lever and make sure it's not stuck in the up or down position. If the spring is broken in the lever(and is down) for the remote it'll be pushing pressure against the ball in the coupling for that side of the valve. If it got very hot it may have cooked the hydraulic oil also. It may need changing now and hope it didn't do harm to the pump.

Is this a Fiat design tractor. Will the 3 point arms raise?

Fiat is Italian. The Longs or at least some of them were Fiat copies made in another country.
