I am thinking about buying a 12' hesston hydra swing. 1014.

What HP would be the min. for this implement?

Would a JD 2120 or a MF90 work ?

HP for 1014
Hi Bill:
The 1014"s are far from being a lesser known haying machine. I"m thinking Hesston invented the roller conditioners way back when. They originally advertised their machinery as Hessenizing the hay. I’ve Been using a 1014 for years behind a 4010 JD or 1850 Oliver equivalents. Our 90 hp class tractors work well for us in as much we don’t have the dog’s tail waging the tractor. Plus having one piece of hilly ground the heavier weight of the larger tractors assists the handling this or any similar implement (like large round baler) safer on any ground. Another benefit if you should hit some soft wet seasonal ground the extra power, weight, and traction becomes a real plus pulling the mower to drier ground. Just my opinion. Truthfully I have no idea what your tractors are? Sorry! As I’m only speaking from what I know. Good Luck!
