Hey all, I thought some of you might like to see these photos. This was my Dad's old tiller that he bought new in 1981. The entire tiller was torn down, sandblasted to bare steel and then re-painted in Massey Ferguson red. The motor was updated to a modern coil and a minor re-build and carb work. Other than some replacement parts, new grade 8 hardware where visable and sundry items, it is all original.
PS, if anyone has a line on 1980's Briggs & Stratton decals, please let me know!

The decals are NOS from the mid 80's and never installed (Thanks Dad!)

How do the wheel weights attach to these rims? Mine do not have holes in the rims "ala lawn tractor style"

Interesting question, because I just found this free on the side of the road over the weekend! I need to make the bracket that stays on the push bar when not in use, but other than that it's all there and in really good shape with no holes! I will sandblast and repaint it to match, but what is the chance you would just find one with "FREE" painted on the blade while not really looking for one! :D

Nice job! Mine had the bigger 8hp I/C Briggs. I think your's would of been the 7hp one, Right? It was a hard choice between the Farmall, the MF and the IH reds.. One of those $10.00 cans of paint was going to have to work!

They used 7hp Kohlers and 6hp Tecumseh engines. The 7hp had bar tread tires like on your tiller, but the 6hp tillers has the diamond tread. That 10hp has electric start, if I had know how easy it is to start I wouldn't have bought it with electric start. They used 8hp Kohlers and 8hp B&S
I bought a new tiller in 1991 that was black, that was Gardenway's 25th anniversary tiller. It had the 8hp Kohler. Hal

It looks new, I used the Farmall red on this tiller. I sold the Tecumseh engine and installed a new 10hp B&S engine. Hal
