I resently purchased a Lowther tractor sold by Wards and understand was only built about 3 years. It has a tricycle front end, a chyrsler engine, transmission{fluid drive}, and rear end. Anyone that can help me getting info on this tractor I would appreciate it.

Your tractor is actually a Custom with the Ward's nameplate on it. This same design tractor was sold under the names Lehr's Big Boy, Custom, Wards, Rockoll, and Simpson Jumbo. For info contact: Custom Custom Club International - 3516 Hamburg Road - Eldoredo, Ohio 45321. Or phone [513] 273-5692.

Harry A. Lowther Co. in Shelbyville, In. produced the Wards, Rockol, Lehr's Big Boy and Custom tractors from 1950 - 54. They had Chrysler industrial motors and some had the Gyrol Fluid Drive such as your tractor is equipped with. There was an article on this family of tractors in the July/August 1997 Antique Power magazine. : I resently purchased a Lowther tractor sold by Wards and understand was only built about 3 years. It has a tricycle front end, a chyrsler engine, transmission{fluid drive}, and rear end. Anyone that can help me getting info on this tractor I would appreciate it.
