Hello--

I guess this is the right forum for Cat's - Orphans (???)

I am looking at a Cat 933F circa 1962 s/n 42A4471. Engine has had a rebuild lately and undercarriage and hydraulics looks good. Paint looks terrible but the rust is in good shape!!! Problem is, it has no track brake on the right side. Power is removed from the track with the appropriate lever but foot pedal on right side doesn't lock up the track at all. Makes for real wide right turns!!!!

Anybody have any insight as to what involved in getting it working? How is this model to work on?

Any info, guidance, insight or comments will be greatly appreciated. I have an MF-210 compact tractor with loader and was getting parts when I saw this hunk of iron in the used equirment area and fell in love. Price was right so I put down a deposit.

If I have offended anyone or violated some taboo about Caterpillar in this group please excuse my ignorance....and let me know. I notice that there is no forum for THEM!!!!????? How come????

Thanks in advance
// Ernie

The brake band could be broken. Sometimes the pin holding the band falls out. Lots of possiblities on this one.
