Could someone tell me more about this garden tractor? I just bought it at a farm sale. It has a 3hp. clinton engine 2, 12x6 tractor tires, with a change of pulleys it has 5 speeds, 1.9 to 9 mph and a reverse. It runs well and has a front mower deck, a rear mount disc and a cultivator. It also has a seat that mounts somewhere may be on a 2 wheel dolly behind the implements, I do have all the manuals for it but no mention of the seat. Any ideas anyone? It is a 1953 model, how long did wards make this and where can you find parts for it. The mower blade is in good shape but would like to get another one, it has no pitch just a flat blade with 3 holes to bolt it on. Thanks Doug

I've got an old Montgomery Wards walk behind garden roto-tiller with a Clinton engine on it. I don't know the size of the motor but I do have
a serial number. 16X 23661. I need a sperk plug
and am having a difficult time determining the correct one.
Any suggestions?
ThX, Bob

I have a mower like yours. Mine has a 6.7 hp wisconsin engine on it. The seat mounted on a two wheel frame that was pulled behind the tractor. I heard who made these for Wards but can't quite remember, something like toro or wheelhorse but I'm not sure.

I have been persuing a more recent wards tractor identity and found a lot of info at a discussion board at "Simple Tractor" which specializes in Simplex tractors. Simplex supplied Wards with two wheel tractors starting in 1935 and latter four wheel tractors. Wards stopped selling Simplex tractor about 1965.
