Is the serial number on a Co-Op E3 the same place as on a Cockshutt 30? I think I may have gotten a Co-Op but can't find any serial number on the left side of the top of the frame by the motor.

Isn't it a bad scene when a Cockshutt (or a Co-op) is talked about in the orphans and oddballs section? I have a Cockshutt 30 and the only place a serial number shows up is on the top edge of the cast iron 'tub' that supports the motor. As a matter of fact, it even has a '49' as the starting 2 numbers which is the year of manufacture (followed by a '-' then the actual serial number. Obviously, you are missing the strip that goes between the 2 front grille panels. Cockshutts said Cockshutt, and Co-ops said Co-op. Another way is to check the rear wheels. Cockshutts had light yellow wheels (front and rear) and Co-ops were sort of an ugly orange (or red-orange) color on the whole tractor, including the wheels. If you find a number, put it on this forum or email me. I've got a serial number list for both brands.

Thanks Mike. I wish there was a Cockshutt / Co-Op forum here also. The tractor in question doesn't have the nose strip or original rear wheels. It appears to have orange paint under the red but I cannot detect any serial number where it should be. Maybe my old eyes are failing me .... I'll keep looking.
