Hi folks. Bought a slightly used IMT 542 deluxe, desiel. Can anyone direct me to a group who discuss their IMT tractors? Can anyone confirm a MF model number? I understand that MF went over to europe and built them over there and then shipped them between 88 to 92. I have the owners manual, but sure could use a copy of the service manual with both mech and elec prints. Any advice would go a long ways to helping me to maintain this tractor. Thanks in advance. Paul

I tried to order some books from them last year, and they replied that they could'nt send anything because America has an embargo against them. Maybe it's lifted now.
And yes your right, they did manufacture for Massey.

Burrhead, thanks for that bit of info. Didnt know about the embargo. I suppose that might be one of the reasons that I have not gotten a reply from them as of yet. I was lucky a Phil in MS on the M.F. forum told me about a tractor place down in MS and I called them this morning. Got a service manual on the way C.O.D. Are you still looking for some kind of servcie manual? If so here is the name and number of the place that Phil gave to me. Or you can wait and I will report what shape the manaul is in (is it Xerox and if so, can you read it?). Anyway here is the info I got from Phil, "Robison & Grisson Tractor Co., Guntown, Miss. 662-869-1028 and ask for Doug". Hope that is of some help. Phil said that they were the main importers of the IMT tractors and he figured if anyone could help they were the ones. Again thanks for your reply and help..

You're welcome and good luck. Thanks for the info. I have a friend who runs 2 of the IMT's. They are early 70's models and still maintains a golf course with finish mowers hooked to both.

Burrhead, I received my manual today. It is a copied version and some of the text is a little rough, but better than nothing. My only gripe is that I was hoping that it would have a good electrical drawing. Well it only shows the interinal drawing for the alternator and a worthless drawing of the starter and its solinoid. Oh it does tell you which of the fuses is for what circuit. Now on the bright side the mechanical drawings are fair good with some good instructions of break down and put back together. Again the copies are a little rough in the photo area, but believe that a good mechanic can work thru the rough spots. Have a merry Christmas.. Paul

Merry Christmas Paul,
If you can look at the tractor and tell what model Ferguson would be equal to it you might get by with a Massey book. My buddy uses the manuals for the old 35 Massey for his and so far it is an exact match. Good luck with it and if I can ever help just holler.
