Can anyone help me locate parts for this English made tractor? It is a one cylinder diesel tractor that develops about 40 hp. It weighs nearly 7000 lbs. It starts by igniting a blank shotgun shell. They were imported into Canada during the fifties.

There is a guy here in TN with a Field Marshall and he has no trouble hand cranking it after putting the appropriate material in the cylinder. He purchased a Marshall video and some parts from a guy in England (probably the same guy the first post talked about). Let me know if you need the England connection and I will contact him. They are fun tractors and very unique at shows. JD

I've got a few original "marshall diesel engine power start cartridges". Paper case and metal caps. I was wondering if you would be interested in them.

I'm not next to my references right now but will look and post back here. There are clubs in the UK for Field Marshalls. Don't use the cartridges any more than you have to. Apparently the crank bearings would only stand up to so many explosions. I think a compressed air system was the preferred route. Tom

my grandpa owned a couple of them. I've got a few power start cartridges (original), if you're interested.
