I have found a CO-OP C-3 tractor for sale. I'm told it runs and tin and all is in good condition. Cost is $1200. I cannot find much on this model. Can anyone tell me if this is a good deal. I would like to buy a tractor to restore. Is this a good pick based on availability of parts, etc. Also what is the HP and other basic info like years made, etc. Thanks to all for any input

I have a CO-OP C and had a very hard time finding parts and info on it.There were only 500 C's built I finally found a book with info. The book is Cockshutt The Complete Story, but it has info on CO-OP's in it. I have restored mine and it looks great and get lots of comments at tractor shows that I take it to.Price is about right for the area we live in Central Ohio. Any questions I can help with email me at tractordave@alltel.net

Am not sure of what you found. There is a Co-op "C" and a Co-op "E-3". Easiest way to tell is-overhead valve or flathead engine? E-3 has ohv Buda engine. They were built by Cockshutt in Canada and sold in the US thru co-op's 1946-1952. They are identical to Cockshut 30, (except for paint color) which continued to be built until 1956. There is good collector interest in them, parts are plentiful and the price is okay for a decent tractor.
