I inherited a 46 Cockshutt 560 diesel, never restored, still runs. It looks like it was a cream or butter color, but all the photo's I've seen show the tractors painted red. Anyone know the original color scheme, or a source of more info?

Your message said you inherited a '46 Cockshutt 560. Now, either you made a typo error or whoever gave you the tractor is spoofin' or mistakin'. The 560 Cockshutts did not come onto the market until 1958 and were produced until 1961. The serial numbers for the 4 years started with:

1958 - CM1001 1959 - CN5001

1960 - CO7001 1960 - CP1001

If you do have a '46, then its a model 30 and to my knowledge, they were all painted red with a light yellowy cream color on the wheels and grille. The 30 was indeed one of history's most beautiful tractor design. Later some of these showed up in 2 tone but into the 1950's.

Serial Number found-Cockshutt in question is CN5403D. Looks like it's not a 46 after all??

Under "Research and Info" punch up on the "Tractor Shed" site. There are some beautiful restored Cockshutts over there.
Them boys have put alot of work in them and they do look good.

The early 500 series 1958 to 1960 were all Harvest gold the later models 1961-1962 were harvest gold with red belly.
