I recently came into posession of two old Hubers. One is in bad shape , the other worse. I hope eventually to fix one using parts from the other as they seem to be the same model. I need to figure out what they are. I can only find serial numbers on the engines. The Stearns engine model is EU , serial # 2635 II on the first and # 276697 on the other. If they exist where would tractor serial # plates be. Also if anybody Knows any Huber aficianado's let me know who they are.

There is an excellent book about Huber named "Huber 1890-1948 by Alan C. King, Data Book No. 5!" Printed by the Independent Print Shop Co., 9 East William St, Delaware, Ohio 43015. This book is a great source of information to help you identify your machine. Huber used many sizes of Sterns engines. The surest way to determine the size is based on the cylinder bore (all of these used the same 6.5" stroke).

My Huber is a 1929. The serial # is on a plate in the back fastened to the crossmember which supports the control levers. Mine has Sterns Engine model AU #297025. Hope you enjoy yours as much as we do.

By the way, the phone number for the Huber Museum is (740) 389-1098. Gook Luck with your restoration.
