The owners manual says that these tractors came in 3 colors. I believe it was Red, Green and Chrome Yellow. Does anyone know what Chrome Yellow looks like? Is it close to Caterpillar yellow? I read 2 threads that mention their Earthmasters look orange under a repaint. Did they come in Orange or could this be closer to Chrome Yellow?

I have a completely resotred Earthmaster. I was also confused on colors. The base color was a dull red and it may appear orange. The colors that were on mine when I aquired it were red frame and hood, yellow fenders and the 3 point hitch system was green. I painted mine red with black trim but I now believe that the above were the original colors. I am also trying to find out the accurate manufacturing dates. I have a book that says that the C and the CH were made in 1954 in Burbank, California, nothing made in 1955 but shows a 1956 and 57 high crop model that were made under Turner Earthmaster. All other info on the Internet all say 1948 and 1949 only. Confused? Also note that The Farm and Ranch Magazine issue Feb/March 2000 under mystery tractor looks like an Earthmaster with some slight modifications but will not be able to confirm this until April/May issue. I am hoping to submit all of this info to the same Magazine with hope of getting some accurate feedback. If you have any confirmed information on either of these things I would appreciate and e-mail.

WHen our parent company bought out Earthmaster in ca.1955--Latham Seed & Equipment Company--the tractors we received and parts showed the colors to be: a deep reddish/orange, bright yellow rims ( similar to JD but darker ) and dark grren for the lift arms and implements. We still have a few oval brass plates that depict the logo and the reddish/orange color.

Interesting... Do you still have any of the oval brass plates for sale and if so how much. I have recently bought what I believe is a 49 CH. The oval brass plate is missing from the hood as well as the square plate from the engine block.

Please let me know.
