Just did a search and found talk on the Plymouth tractor from Jan 10 ,1999.I am looking at a J.D. that a old guy has in northern Michigan, and he told me he had a Plymouth tractor in the barn, well like any good tractor nut I asked to see it.He took me in and showed it to me. There it sat in original unrestored condtion on the factory sand tires holding air and looking like a two year old. Then he drop the shocker on me ,the serial NO.is #5(yes it was the fifth one built),Just when I thought "would he sell it?" he said me a J.D. rep. had been by and told him that it should be worth near $50.000,well so much for that idea.
Anyways,I'm planning on getting pictures of it next time I go up there and will see about sending some to Y.T., if anyone would like to see them, let me know if it's worth my time,Keep the plows sharp & rows straight,Dan

That JD rep was blowing smoke. I have the pictures of the Plymouth, and it is now officially for sale. The "old guy" is my father, and I was just up there. Since no one can assess the value (too rare), I'm thinking about an e-Bay auction, and let the market decide. But I have convinced him that a reasonable offer should be honored. I think the S/N is actually 006 or 008, which may make it one of the 1934 prototypes.

He should have had that JD rep get out his checkbook. I've seen more olds tractors and cars end up in the scrap because someone told them it was worth a fortune.

I'm sure some members of the Silverkings of Yesteryear tractor club would be interested in the pics, including myself. I don't know about the $50K though, that's probably wishful thinking.
First you have to find someone willing to pay that. There are only so many interested people and I don't know of any with a wallet that size.
