Does anyone know the oil viscosity recommended for the diesel engine installed in the David Brown 880 Selectmatic? Any information would be appreciated.

If you ever see a manual for one of these, they will quote different viscosities for roughly every twenty degrees difference in air temperature. You can pretty well avoid all this by using a good, reputable brand of oil in 15-40 viscosity. Will flow in cold weather and still protect at full throttle in the middle of summer. We have it in everything from the lawnmower to the combine. Simplifies stock keeping as well. Tom
