yours is a early 39,they used only even serial numbers, starters were a option,I have one with out a hole in the bell housing for a starter,I have never seen one with a foot throttle. The early ones were a transition and used what ever parts were available(some cletec trans)It has a IXB Hercules engine,Clark rear end and transmission. We recently toured the building in Louisville Ky where operations were moved after Cletrac sold out to Avery.Let me know if I can help on anything you need Keith

Did they start with 002 being the first one built?
The foot throttle is bolted to the frame in the same place the hand throttle plate is, I think. Its been a few months since I last saw one. I have no pics or info. The linkage all hooks up the same and appears to be the same configuration.?? Mine has a place for a starter but no batt. box, no gen. and no wires. For restoration purposes then a starter would be ok? Does the plant in Louisville have any info or history on the gg?
It would be very interesting to find out if the foot throttle was a early means of throttle control carried over from the crawler line. what do you think?? Then i do'nt know if they used foot controls on the crawlers do you?
