I was working on a Ebro-McKee 460, and the motor is a Perkins, so I believe that is what it is.

Herb,
Your 470 is a Perkins 4.236 engine rated at 71 bhp at 2100 rpm, fitted to a Spanish built Fordson Super Major gearbox and rear axle.

Hope this helps.
regards
Brian

Hi The hyd. pump is located under the speedo in front of the gear shift. that box your talking about is the valve for the 3 point hitch.I looked for over a year and can't find one. Danny in Arkansas USA

Paul,
Ebro is a Spanish company set up by Ford and Massey Ferguson to make tractors in Spain. The tractor was a Fordson Major or Super Major re badged and with M-F tin work. Later tractors were Super Major gear boxes/rear axles fitted with Perkins engines.

Edbro also supplied Spanish built engines as spares for Super majors.

The engine you have is possibly one of these and is a straight copy of a Super engine and all parts are interchangeable as is the workshop manual.

The Perkins engines used were badged as such and as you do not mention this I would suspect it is the Super one.
regards
Brian

curious. I am looking for an EBRO diesel to fit to a MF35 Petrol, now about 25 or so years ago an EBRO diesel was available that fitted directly to a Ford County. These were infact ford made perkins engines built at the Ford tractor factory in Spain which was nationalised by their dictator gouvernor, Tito I think it was. They just re-engraved the casting moulds to read EBRO which they did by altering the FORD letters. If you look at this you will see how they did it. The F was re-tooled to be an E, O was made into a B and so on. Cheeky buggers but the engines were identical only possibly not so well made.So does anybody know how to contact them??
