OK gents, here are the facts: The Nuffield 4/65 has either a 38T, a 38TA, or a 38TD engine in it. The Leyland 344N has a 34TD.

Let us know if you needs parts, manuals, etc.

Carl,
I don't know the difference between these two tractors but I just had to give my two-cents worth on the leyland 344. I LOVE MINE!! I'm in the process of finding a front-end loader for it.
It's a strong, heavy tractor that works great for our 40acre farm. Parts and books are readily available and reasonable; you may email me if you need a reference. Good luck with yours.

I have a Leyland-Long model 4/25 with the 1622 cc gasoline engine.

I looked long and hard, and not only could I find no source for parts or information, no-one I talked to had any ideas where to look either .
Everywhere I called was a dead end.

I searched and searched on the Internet, and was just about to give up and resign myself to having a true orphan- a great tractor, but no parts availability and no service information, when I finally came across a a lead, which turned out to be a solid source for parts and service information!

The firm is Anglo-American Services Group, Inc
P.O. Box 22877
Knoxville, TN 37933
'phone (865)-675-1505

On the Web go directly to 'http://angloamericanservices.com'.
DO NOT do a web search for this site- it will not show up (at least not as of 03 November 2000).

All the Best!

Jim

I had a nuefield 4/65 about 10-12 years ago. It was a very handy and economical tractor. Till it spun a bearing. I've heard that these and the Leyland are known for doing that. I'm not sure. If you are going to dig a hole for them, I have a hole already and would take them off your hands, :)

I have a Leyland 344 . It has been a good Tractor for the most part. The 344 was rated 55 horsepower draw bar and 45 horsepower on the PTO by the company . It replaced the Nuffield 3/45 . The 384 a 70 horse rated Tractor replaced the Nuffield 4/65 . They no doubt have many common parts, but I would think that the 4/65 would have a larger motor . I stand to be corrected !
Just my thought. George

George,
You are right. The 384 also had improved balance over the 4/65.
regards
Brian
