Ijust purchased an old GIBSON tractor and don't know what I have. It has a single cylnder wisconson engine,4 belt clutch, transmission with f+r gears [3 forward]. It has a lever for steering and I think, a brake band for each wheel. Any info on how to tell the year or model to get me started on restoring it would help. Thanks Craig Hoskin

Your Gibson Tractor is a 1947;"unstyled tractor". I have a complete manual and information . I also own the same tractor. If you care to have further communication, I will be moving to mum60@earthlink.net NORM

What you have is either a model A or D. Look on left front frame by engine. Model followed by serial stamped there. David Baas, Gibson Tractor Club, 4200 Winwood Ct., Floyd Knobs, IN 47119 is a good source of info on the Gibson.

That's the "Left front" looking from the front of the tractor; "Right front" looking from the seat of the tractor. If you haven't contacted the Gibson Club via Dave Baas, do so now! If can't contact him, let me know.

There is a Gibson club, try
Link

It probably has a Wisconson AEH 6 hp. motor. I have a bunch of innards for one of these that came off a parts engine. I am trying to get them out of my garage, only want the cost of shipping. If you are interested, let me know. I would like to own a Gibson A or D some day, cash flow permitting. Good luck.

I have a question. I have a gibson, not sure of the year, i have looked all over it and find no s/n. there is a plate mouted to the front where the blade should be that says 1939...My question is, I just acquired an engine, but it has some kind of bell housing/clutch in stead of the pulley system that is on my tractor. which sould I use??? any body have any pulleys that I might convert this engine to work for me...Any help would be great!!!
