I see a lot of messages concerning Pasquali tractors, mainly looking for parts. Can you tell me what is special about these tractors. Must be a lot of intest in them, that individuals brought them. Basically, why did you buy them them over other more while know brands.

hello Ray,

Well I can tell you My parents had their Model 997 since I was a boy. They still have it, and it is running strong. It is better than a Kubota, and has unbelievable manuverbility and traction due to its All Wheel Drive Heavy construction, and a reliable rugerini 35HP engine and strong gear box. The thing is bullit proff. What ticks me off is that this Jap junk, and Chi Com garbage seems to be so apealing to the American public they don"t see a better machine when they see it. This tractor was also more affordable than the Kubota.

Things I would have done different on this tractor? Hydraulic 4 weel disk breaks, Hydralic clutch. But the mechanical linkages and rear drum breaks work just fine. Clutch cable finally brock one time and I replaced it. No big deal. If more of us supported this ITALIAN company and its good engineering and good value we might still have Pasquali dealers nation wide and not have to jump through our asses to get parts. The only way you are going to get a tractor like this is to get a very very large John Deer. We don"t need a monster like that. We need a Pasquali 997, 988, 991, and the little 986. Cool tractor who gets no respect or notice, except from the people who"ve worked them hard, enjoyed their durability and capabilities and know them backwards and forwards.

Best regards,

Terry

As stated the little guys are mighty mouses in disguise. They look really small but are better in wooded areas than any 8N ever would be. I was told that Pasquali hit the US in the early 70s but the flooding of the market by kabotas in small 4x4 put a big hurt on the sales. I found mine by seeing a dealer that had a burnt unit at his place and inquired about it. Well he said I have mine in the barn and I might sell it if your interested. Well luv at first sight. A 977 with dozer blade, bradco trencher, had new tires on it with another set of 9.50 x 16 tires and rims PLUS a new set of floatation tires and wheels, extra parts, 3 pt hitch parts for $5K! BOUGHT IT! Minor problem was the hydraulic pump shaft in the stock pump was to weak, I simply went to a american pump with a modified pump bracket and no problems since. Rugergihnni (SP) diesel manual I sometimes scan and let puter translate it.

Jay,
I don't want to call it a cult but many of us have a strange obsession for this little machine. The essential difference is that it is articulated (pivots at the center) is four wheel drive all tires same size. It will climb over anything it want knock down and you can almost squeeze it into your pick-up truck. I am an engineer and machinery guy and I will never again not have a Pasquali to work in my yard. I have been to Italy and Spain and they are everywhere. They are designed specifically for vineyards. Since American Pasquali essentially is gone nobody else wants em. New they are about $25,000 and you can find one that runs for about$2500. Peter

Mark,
Is the snow blower on the frontor the back? There is a version with a front PTO just for this attachment in front. I don't know much about the 986 which is smaller then the 99- machines. The current range for a machine that is in good working shape is probably about $2000-$3000. As you know even minor parts can be a challenge.

We own two pasqualies that we purchased from Case
about 10 years ago. They were very dependable and
durable tractors, but we are in need of trying to locate some parts. If anyone knows where to order these please contact us. We did here of someone in the Pennsylvania Area, but are unable to reach him.

Gloria,
The primary source would be American Pasquali in Wisconsin. Bob Coons is the guy, his dad imported all of the machines in the U.S. I'll send you his number when i can find it!

Question for Peter: As you have been in Italy, do you have any information on SAME? They bought out Deutz tractor line in 1995, and I'm trying to find out if they build them yet in Germany. Can't seem to find the SAME company on the internet. Thanks!

Lennie,
I do not know of SAME. Good luck, the web is your best tool to track things down, try the manufacturer through Duetz.

in Wisconsin. The phone number I have is no longer
in use.
