Have been cruising/using this site for some time now. Learned a lot. Just bought a Middle 60's F800 Ford truck with a Marmon Herrington 4x4 conversion. Can't get the front drive shaft to do anything. The transfer case dash label shows Hi/N/Lo. No 2hi/4hi or anything. Yet there is a light on the dash indicating AWD ( all wheel drive ) engaged. There must be some way of engaging/disengaging the AWD. There are front hubs. There are 2 vacuum knobs on the dash but though they make noise when activated & appear to be hooked up they don't seem to do anything. Maybe since it's been so cold here the mechanism may have moisture & be frozen. It's also been too cold to crawl around under it to see where they go...Or who knows. Guess I'm asking if anyone has any hints on the problem or does anyone know of a site like this one for odd ball TRUCKS? THANKS!!!

My father's pride & joy is a 1918 Moline Universal Tractor. It is red, articulates in the center and the drive wheels are up front with cement formed inserts in the front wheels for weight/traction. I have no clue where this should be documented (also have pictures) on this site or is there a better site strictly for the old "Moline" brand.

Since the Moline Universal became a part of Minneapolis-Moline, that would be your "family".

Just for the heck of it I typed in Marmon Herrington as a search and found they are still in business and have a website. While searching, I found these 2 sites you might find interesting "Dick Cutting's website" Link and American Truck Historical Society (ATHS) Link Dick Cutting has some great pictures of a 1941 Ford/Marmon-Herrington 2-1/2 ton truck being restored as well as lots of other trucks "restored" but being used for real work. I love those log trucks loaded to the hilt. ' hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
