Hi folks,

Have recently seen two (different locations) small tractors similiar (at a distance) to a Massy Harris Pony, but clearly very different up close, and with "Leader" stamped in the sheet metal, appears to be a company based in Ohio. I'm guessing 10HP class, 4 cyl, live hydraulics (similiar to the Pony), 3pt hitch, not a lot of castings. It is based on frame rails similiar to a AC WC/WD/WF. Anyone know anything about these things? Are they worth restoring? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, and Merry Christmas, Mike Danford

Leader tractors were built after WW2 in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. They used a 4 cylinder Hercules flathead motor that I would guess put out around 25 HP. I have owned two, not bad machines considering that they were essentially built off the shelf with components from outside suppliers.

Was there just the one model of Leader made or other sizes? What is the model designation? They seem to be pretty rare. I have one with transmission problems and I see one at a show every now and then. JD
