I think you are referring to a mott flail mower. Mott corp. got bought up in 83or84 and i cannot find the name of the new company, lost my info. Do remember they specialize in mostly gov.&municipal sales, however they are doing some marketing with john deere. Talked with the factory within the last 30 days and he told me to go to the jd dealer in milledgeville ga.(southside equp co.) and take the old knives(blades) with me and that they could order it they only sell through dealers, no retail sales outlet. I am running my second mott mower. Have a 60" 3pt hitch unit that i have done some modifications on and would not trade for a sackful of finish mowers. These mowers do a beautiful job if you make a few changes on them , if interested e mail me and i'll tell you how to make it into one of the smoothest cutting 3pt hitch mower you can find. I am going to get over 10 yrs of use out of my blades. Have done a lot of work on and with this machine. Have got to find my info. You will either love or hate this mower, it is a very different machine, but once you understand it you will be suprised at what it will and can do for you and your yardwork! *********Gene Davis email-- gadavis@washemc.net

Gene,

I recently acquired a Mott 72 flail mower and ran across your posting. I am interested in anything you can tell me about this mower. Especially, how to make into "one of the smoothest cutting 3pt hitch mower you can find."

Thanks,
