I am trying to start a Terratrac loader with an ED-208 continental diesel. It has a Roosa Master pump. The injection pump jumps or moves while I am turning the engine over to bleed the injection lines out. When I pull the pump, the pump drive shaft slides out of the pump, it is mounted in a separate flange, and has only one bearing surface that I see. Should there be a bearing in the block that the end of the drive shaft rides in? If there should be, it's gone, there is not one there now. Any help is welcomed.

May GOD bless,
Levi

With these pumps the shaft stays with the engine. The shaft is held by a bearing in the engine, usualy only a small wiggle can be had on the shaft. The pump does support the outside end of the shaft. Hopefully you timed the engine before removeing the pump.Retimeing the engine after the shaft jumps a tooth can be a chalenge if you don't have a manuel.

Larry,
I have a manual and I have timed diesels before. What I don't have is a parts book on this engine. In my engine there is no bushing or bearing for the shaft to ride in. There is lots of wiggle with the shaft in place and the mount plate tight.
Does anyone have a parts book?

I would think this engine was used in some massey ferg. tractor. So if there is a dealer near you i would ask them.

I looked in a book on engines and it shows rosamaster pumps made both ways. Some leave the shaft on the engine and some have the shaft go with the pump. Allso some of the pumps comepletely support the shaft and some don't. I am used to working on one model tractor so I allways got the same kind of pump.
