Have a 1944 walk behind Planet JR with all attachments and books. New, warranty papers and engine booklet, tool repair kit all together and original. Has been stored inside warehouse since 1944. Know where I can go to get it valued and to put it up for sale?

I happened upon this by accident and have a question for anybody. I have had an old wrench in my tool collection for years. It is about 6-1/2 inches long with the name Planet Jr in the center. No one has ever been able to tell me anything about it. Is it part of a tool kit that came with a tractor? I have a picture at: ynk.netfirms.com/pjr.jpg
Any information will be appreciated.

You are correct! The wrench came with either a hand push cultivator or a gas engine powered walk behind garden tractor. I have a couple of the wrenchs. One is the cutout style and the other is solid, both are number 3 wrenchs. I also have several push cultivators and 2 complete Planet Jr. "Tuffy" walk behind engine powered tractors. There is a YaHoo club for Planet Jr. collectors.

I am interested in contacting people that collect planet jr tractors. My son has one that is a one cylinder 3 or 3 1/2 hp Briggs and Stratton. It pull starts using your own rope. It has a horizontal shaft and gear reduction. The serial number is 167541. He also has the snow blade, the tiller and I believe a plow. If I could ask your assistance in the matter of what something like this is worth and the collectability factor it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Sherry

Hi,

Just purchsed a used Cole Planet Jr hand seeder.
Came accross your eamail request. I have a new Owners Manual, which may provied some insight. Years ago I used an older Planet Jr and cannot tell the difference except for the Plastic seed hopper and plate. I was able to order replacment plates from Peaceful Valley Farm Supply in California USA.
Hope this helps.
I guess Cole is out of business?

I also have a Planet Jr.; I intend to restore. Through a search I found this post. All the information I have at this point is the serial number (8675) I cannot determine the engine make or h.p. If any of should find any information please advise. Very soon I'll be posting a picture of my machine.

I have a Planet Jr. not sure of the year. I believe it's the HW model SN202153. Has a 6.2 Wisconson engine. I also have some attachments. Plow and cultivator. Probably the most important item is the illustrated parts manual unfortunatly it is dated 1957, not sure how well it covers all previous models, but has a wide range of models to choose from.
