I've noticed two different front axle assemblies seem to have been available on the model V. One is a very simple straight round tube similar to a Farmall Cub while the other appears to have been a cast part which dropped down at the kingpin ends. Is one of these early and one later? Mine is straight tube model.

Hey Chuck, is your's a BF Avery or a MM Avery? After BF Avery went bankrupt and was bought my MM, the Model V was continued for a few years, with the straight tube type axle, according to what I've learned. Also was painted MM gold. What is your serial number? Mine is 6V-305, makeing it a 1951 model I think. It also has the MM Avery hood badge on it, and the gold paint underneath someone's brighter yellow re-paint. Does yours have the hydraulic lift and cultivator? Mine does and it works but that's the only equipment I have with it. Engine runs but needs rebuilding.

Thanks for the info Stanley. I wish I could provide you with answers to the questions you had for me but the truth is I bought the tractor after only seeing a few pics of it and speaking with the owner via the phone. Tractor is complete as far as he or I can tell nad from the pics I can see the straight front axle tube and Avery on the medallion at the front. I should know alot more by next Saturday at noon when we meet to complete this transaction.(I'd leave tonite if I could!) Our meeting is about 10 hours away for me and about 6 for him. I was just getting an early start on my restoration research. More later, thanks again. Chuck
