Has anyone heard of this make and / or model of tractor. I would ideally like to get a workshop manual. This tractor was found on a dairy farm at Mitta Mitta in the high country of Victoria, Australia. It is a gasoline / kerosine guzzlin', smoke blow'n, 3 ton monster. I'd like to hear from anyone who has any information about the beast.

Jim: You've got a real beast there. Just to hit the high spots, apparently they were built from late 1948 to about 1957. Engine was a Morris commercial unit(truck) running at 2000 rpm to give 38 hp.Cost about 490 pounds in 1950 in England and was supposed to compete with the Fordson of the time. From 1950 they were available with a Perkins 4 cylinder diesel, in1954, BMC came up with their own diesel. This is all out of an album of Nuffield, Leyland and Marshall. Unless someone has a manual at a flea market or swap meet, I wonder if anything is left of the service department of what was BMC. Maybe there is an industrial agent left who may have a manual for you. Good Luck. Tom

Jim B, we have recently purchased a 1949 LC/3 Morris Commercial and want contact with a club or other owners. The truck is here in Australia, near Sydney and has been restored. We need to buy 700/20 tyres. This is the only site that came up after a quick search. Hoping you can help us, Peter Mac Donald/Jim Carver.

For a manual, try faxing : B.J.Sims, 1 Hall Cottages, Church Lane, Swarkestone, Derby, DE73 1JB
Tel/Fax 01332 702717

They have lots of copies of old manuals at reasonable prices.

These tractors had lots of new features when they first came out. The choke, for example causes the engine to run on petrol when fully out, for starting, petrol/kerosine mixture when half out, and kerosine only when fully in.
