If you wish to sell I m interested. One of our old Cletrac is missing it original engine. It is an early one from 1919-20. It has got an oldsmobil six motor in the frame at present.
Or perhaps there are some other unit out there ? By the way Who can tell the history of the Weidley firm ?

Hello,

I'm an automotive historian from the University of Maryland. I'm not as familiar with tractor engines but I do know that several cars were powered by Weidley engines in the teens and twenties. To my knowledge, the largest Weidley engine used in cars was a V12 used in several different makes including Kissel (The Double Six), Ambassador, and Pathfinder, one of which is at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum. I have some articles here which give some hints about the beginnings of the Weidley Co. If interested, I'll look some of this up.....Jack

It is obvious that I have not been aware of your comment Jack, but YES I would very much appreciate the information about the Weidley firms history. Look forwarding to hear from you.
Yours Tore Blom

Charles,
If u wish to part with the motor, the Cletrac Org may be able to help. They have advertising & discussion sections on their site. They may even be able to identify/date the motor.

Hope this helps. Manuel
