Well I finally broke down and bought a supplied air system respirator outfit. I bought it on Ebay, survivor air system model 9800-30. Was just wondering if any of you guys had ever tried one of these? I can't wait till it gets here to try it out! Thanks, Dave

Hi Dave,

I don't use that particular unit but do use something similar.

That's a complete, professional package you're getting: third party image

I am sure you will be very pleased with it. If you haven't used supplied air before, I guarantee you'll love it.

One suggestion. If you didn't get some clear plastic, peel-off lens protectors with it, get some. You probably can get something that will work from your local paint supplier instead of going directly to SAS. You could also put something together yourself (probably less expensive) using clear plastic sheet protectors from an office supplies store - held on with scotch tape at either end. Avoid having to remove any overspray from the lens itself with any kind of solvent - not unless you are positive the lens is regular glass, which is unlikely. Otherwise you may have to get a replacement lens from SAS at $$$.

No, this has a small compressor that you place in clean air and a hose runs to a full face mask. I'm sure its going to feel clumsy at first. Dave
