About 4 years ago I painted a Jeep with Red IH enamel from the IH dealer. I used IH reducer and painted in nice 70 degree weather. I don't remember if I used a hardener, but I usually do. The paint went on nice and I put it in the shop and did not bother it for a week. I rolled it outside and hosed out the interior that was going to get painted black.
Everywhere that drops of water splashed on the red paint, immediately turned pink! Water would still do this when the paint was over a month old. I have since seen this same condition on other IH trucks and tractors painted this color, where water was obviously splashed. Did we all do the same thing wrong, or is it the paint?

You would have used the old version of 2150. IH did not have an approved hardner at that time. I beleive in not mixing paint lines. Perhaps the hardner you used, did not react with properly with the paint.

The spots and streaks are permanent. The Jeep has to wait it's turn, but it will have to be repainted. I still have the can, I will look to see what number paint it is. I could dig up some photos, but I've never tried to post any. Not sure exactly how. Do I have to use a link like photobucket?

Are the spots permanent, or are they just calcium deposits left when the water dryed? I have tractors that I have painted using the IH 2150 paint, those tractors have been rained on and have never spotted, I also have washed them, both with a power washer and using just a garden hose, and have never experienced those spots.
