So, how far away are you? I have a grill from a 1941 International I-4 that is caved in at the front. It is intact otherwise. Any hope for it?

No this is not an add just so everyone knows. I have taken many classes in sheet meatal fabrication. I have been restoring tractor for about 7 years now. I have taken allot of classes with the wheel. The english wheel is a tool used back in the 40's they used to use it to form sheetmetal. They used to make everything hand made before the stamp press came out. So the wheels were put off to the side and are no longer used. By useing the whell it removes all dents and rippels becasue it uses 2 wheel the compress the metall ever so slitley and put it back into shape wher it belongs. Now I am sure most of you guys have seen orange county choppers they use the wheel for forming gas tanks and what not.I have bulit a few things like that but nothing special. I was seeing if anyone needed help in here because before I stared takeing all these classes I wondered about how to fix sheetmetal I didnt know anyone that new how it worked. I dont claim to be an expert but I can i say i know enoguth to help you guy striagten you sheet metal with out useing a ton of bondo. Yes to the one gentalmen that wanted his sheet metal fix if he told me what it was he wanted fixed if he sent it to me I would fix it for him at cost. But if anyone wants any help on fixing sheetmetal let me know. For the man that thinks this is an ad it isnt its hear to help offer advise im sorrie if it came out like I was looking for buissness becasue im not im hear to help people.

When we were doing up the 49 Ford pickup a friend did some work for me on their wheel, works well, learned from his father who is close to genius status. Dan in AB

Since this is an informational forum, I'm interested in just what is an "English Wheel"? I've never heard of that and how do they work?

Just put "English wheel" into Google and you'll pop back a bunch of hits. The link below gives instructions for building your own small one. Maybe I'll send some of my parts out for this guy to do free. Then again, maybe not....

Not sure exactly, but I think I've seen a picture of one: a free standing pedestal with a large over-arm roller that meets the top of the ped. You work the metal back and forth to form shapes.--CNKS, don't suppose the guy is offering his work gratis? Nah, probably not, just a thought.

No that's an ad -- see them on the Farmall forum all the time -- they usually get flamed pretty good.

If you are placing a dealer ad, etc, I believe there is a charge for that -- this is a discussion forum.

It may be an ad, but in this case I think it was appropriate to place it here. Obviously a lot of folks didn't know about an english wheel, or what it could do for them, and it did create some discussion.

There is a custom motorcycle builder in CA who makes his gas tanks and all sheet metal parts with the English wheel. His workers are masters with it. When I was in High Scool auto shop we used them along with real lead, no Bondo back then.

The english wheels form eastwood are also 1800 dollars and are crap compared to the one i have. The one i have is solid it has its own stand and everything a good wheel wont flex too. My buddie got one from there and he said he wished he had one like mine becasue his wheel does weird stuff makes un even pattern and stuff. I got mine at a rare deal of 650.There is a place in maine that has a class were you can make them too and you can learn how to use them and make them then when your done you take the wheel home its your to keep its and out standing class. I have even made wheels myself sometimes for people looking to buy a good wheel. If you want a good wheel and are looking to spend like 500 to 1000 I can build one for you no problem and i will assure you it will be better than those riged one in the catolog. Dont get me wrong eastwood is a great catalog I buy alot of there stuff. Just some of there stuff is cheap and i have used it and herd the same stuff from other people many times thats its crap. But I have a bead roller from them my paint gun, air brush and other stuff like that is asome i love all there other stuff.

Merely a comment to show that they are not as uncommon as people think -- I am not recommending any specific one.
