Painting an old 424 International Need help!!

I am restoring an old 424 international gas. We currently have it sandblasted and im looking for tips on the primer (engine does it need a special heat prime?) and tips on what to watchout for. We are thinking of buying a Craftsman paint spray gun but dont know for sure which would do the whole job and good. I have painted autos before and know how to paint but not good on mixtures of thinner versus where on the tractor im putting thre pait (IE BODY FRAME VERSUS ENGINE VERSUS BODY PARTS LIKE FENDERS) I do know the mixture is different though. International Red from the Mfg is what we will be using paint wise. Also types of thinner. In auto there is a wet sand process. I am assuming this will also go for fenders, hood and open parts which we would like to look very good. Well thats about it ill be starting on the primer for protection from rust today or tommorrow and starting the full process in 1.5 weeks. Anyhelp is much appreiciated!!
