I am gonna repaint the cab on my semi and started sanding on it a little the other day and found this would be the 3rd paint job for it judging by the layers. How far down do i take the sanding? I have got all the way to metal in a couple of spots to get a few scratches out. It doesnt need to be a perfectly smooth paint job just a good clean one. What do I use for paint and primer or sealer? Thanks to all who can help me.

If the paint is solid and you have a good base just sand it down. You will have to feather out the spots you sand down to bare metal. You will have to make the call as to what you want to do when you get it all sanded down to the point you are happy with it. If you have very many spots that are bare metal you probably will want to shoot a coat of epoxy over the whole thing. Are you going to change color or stay the same? I don't know how much you want to spend on paint, but the least I would used would be a single stage urathane. PPG has some reasonable priced paints in their Delfleet line and I would use their system. If you haven't painted a lot it make it easier for you, less chance of mistakes.
