A friend painted some parts with the omni urethane, thinned as required, but did not use the hardner. This paint would not dry. He brought the pieces over to my shop to put under infrared heat, and after 24 hrs. it still was sticky to touch. Left hang in booth with heat off for 3 weeks and still stickey to touch. Does he have a bad batch of paint? Dave.

Hi David,

Unlike the OMNI enamel, the use of a hardener in OMNI urethane is not optional. It is required for proper use of the product, as clearly stated on the can label mixing instructions and on the technical data sheet. It would appear that your friend simply didn't pay close enough attention to the manufacturer's written instructions. Sorry, but I think the only fix is removal and starting over.

Acrylic urethane will not cure without hardener. He MUST use it. If he is afraid of isocyanates in the hardener, and prefers Omni then use Omni acrylic enamel. It will cure without hardener.
