I would like your opinion on which paint to use for a DC Case that will be used as a work tractor not a show tractor. The paint on it now is very faded. I know the Case IH power red is not the right color. Does any manufacturer produce a paint in the flambeau red color that will be durable for a work tractor? Also how far off the original color is the Case IH power red?

okay you asked so here's my $.02

There is nothing wrong with a rusty work tractor. Heck most of my work machines need paint. Paint is the cheap part of a paint job. Working tractor need good paint, they are out in the elements, fuel spills, brush hitting them ect... Parade tractors hide in the garage with a cover over them. Most cheap paints are old technology and have a hard time lasting never mind being the wrong color. Take a look at tisco IHC red, it's more of a massey red to me and don't get me going on Persian orange. I feel that PPG's Omni line is the best bang for the buck. For about $100/gal you can get a modern paint in the correct color. With a HVLP paint gun I'd GUESS you'd need around 1 to 1.5 gal to do the DC. I'm not sure on the correct paint code number. After I get this Allis G done, I'll be working on my Case SC-4. For $20 buy a pint and see which color is correct before getting all you need. GOOD LUCK
