I am restoring an old Buller Mfg. Co. cordwood saw that has a vertical blade guard that is cast iron and has the company name and location in raised lettering on it. I know from speaking to an elderly gentleman of the Buller family that the guard was painted Oliver green and the letters were gold. Other than trying to hand paint each individual letter, does anyone have a better way of uniformly applying paint to raised cast lettering. Thanks in advance.

How about a trim roller ith a tight weave.. or a sponge / sponge roller.. thick paint too.. perhaps add hardner.. but to not reduce..

I use a foam 2 inch roller, Thats the smallest I've found you can always trim it down if you need.
