I am in the process of reassem. tranny and wonder how much tension I should put on the idler gear brake plates? Two of the previous discs were scored and welded together. I have ordered new parts to replace damaged discs. Also in measuring wear on pistons and cyl. bores: Pistons are o/s .050 dia. (wore down to 4.041) and cyls. Measure 4.090 to 4.101 . Iwill need to have block bored-out I presume and larger pistons. I see 4.125 dia. pistons advertised, does this mean that cyl. walls are thick enough to be enlarged to 4 1/8. The wall that I can reach down to and measure reads .285" thick. Thanks for your help, I have gathered Discussion Forum notes in a 3-ring binder( 1" thick) since I started in Jan 06.
