Go to DuPonts web site and get the instructions -- they are very explicitly stated. PPG and DuPont are oriented toward body shop people, they assume you already know how to paint -- do exactly as the spec sheets say.

That is good paint but very bad for your health. I just about had to bribe a professional body man to paint my mustang with imron 23 years ago with the stuff. It still looks beautiful though. He was pretty stoked about using a fresh air system with the paint. Good luck with it.

It's no more dangerous than hardener in cheap paint. Iso's are in the hardener (which Imron must use), not in the paint. A person using TSC paint with their loosely worded hardener instructions can get in as much trouble as a "professional" using Imron. All you need is supplied air -- a high gloss costs money, both in terms of the paint itself, and in terms of protective equipment. Sorry for all the rants, I'm just pointing out the similarities and differences between paints. But if a professional painter doesn't even know to use supplied air and does not know the differences between paints he shouldn't be in business anyway.

I was looking for personal preference or experiences with using this stuff. I am aware of the product literature and know things work by the book but I wanted to get first hand hints on what may work better,

My experience is with PPG products. I have found the instructions right on the money and have not seen the need to change anything. But, in general, the instructions are probably conservative as I believe PPG and DuPont guarantee their paint, at least to professionals, and don't want a lot of claims. I still would not vary too far from what the spec sheets say though. Ask your question on a forum such as www.paintucation.com, lot of experienced hobby painters on it, also some pro painters. Mostly oriented to PPG, but I bet someone will have an answer.
