We want to paint our fiberglass Boler trailer. I am new to painting, but I did buy a low priced orbital auto sander and have a HVLP spayer available. Its the peel and stick paper on a 5" disc for my sander. There is so many grits of paper available. I want to sand my egg to prime and paint it, its been hand brushed on with some kind of paint before otherwise its in good shape. Rivet heads poke out all over it, so that is a consideration I think. Can anyone give me an idea of a starting grit to get rolling on and then the gradations up to finish before spraying primer? If I do a good job on the nice round fiberglass egg, maybe I will get confidence to do a tractor. Thanks in advance.

That is a liquid chemical stripper? Its a spray on or a wipe on?

Spray on. Look under auto body supply in your yellow pages.

Strip it. If it has been brushed on it may be latex and will not sand. Corvette stripper or other fiberglass safe stripper will be faster and cheaper in the end.
