I got off work early today and got my 6 rims painted... Boy what a pain to paint.. I was going to start painting the cyls cases.. but sky started to turn dark, and I wanted to stop before humidity got high.. besides, wind in my breezeway to my barn started to pick up..

So far I still need to paint the 3 cyl bodies. Luckily those will be easy.. they just connect by big pins and hairclips.

Then i need to apply my jd decals, as well as unmask the other safety decals, and then apply dot reflective tape to the edges, and finally the smv plaque. Originally I had it setup for one plaque... but I think I will add a plaque on each wing. I did similar on my fixed 10' mower.. that is.. 1 plaque on each edge.. etc.

Since we have gotten moisture 2 times this week, I believe i will have to mow this weekend.. so wednesday afternoon, and friday and saturday better be productive so i can mow on sunday!!

I have sort of the opposite problem -- I have some parts ready to paint, but the temperature in my building was 92 today, about 103 outside. I would much rather paint when it is cooler. I'm either going to have to paint early in the morning or change my hardener and reducer.

We were overcast here in florida most o fthe day... I'd guess high seventies and low 80's .. Mostly calm. Good painting weather. I primed earlier and painted around 3pm. At that point I decided to clean up and put my supplies away as nothing more was going to get done. Luckilly all my stuff was covered when the rain finally did start.. though i certaintly would have liked to use another few hours to get some work done.. ( but we needed the rain.. so it was a good trade-off ).

Speaking of reducer.. etc.. Boy.. this primer I used was much different than the regular implement primer I had been using. I'll bet i had to test spray a good 3-4 oz before I had my air and reducer correct...

I remember the first time my wife say my 'test' paint target... ( a scrap piece of sheet metal ).. she wondered out loud what it was.. as it was .. literally 'rainbow hues'..

Good luck on the temps and your project....

Gosh.. I almost hate to go mow with the thing now that it has got a decent paibt job.. rims and all.. Might get it scratched while working!!

Only way to prevent scratches is to mow every 2 days, so that the weeds aren't tall enough to touch the deck.

I like that.. wish I had the time for that much seat time. I relaxe while mowing... Nothing to bother me.. just making rows..
