I have an opened one pint can that I used from several months ago. Since that time it has been unopened on the shelf. Is the shelf life still good so that I could mix it with MP170 Epoxy Primer and prime my tractor? Thanks

I agree with CNKS.I have used it after 9 mos with no problems. There is a difference between a catylist and a hardner. They are both a catylist by definition, but one CURES and cross-links and the other reacts and cross-links (175). This non-iso catylist reacts with the epoxy primer to promote a near perfect bond and in turn corrosion resistance and in turn a window of chemical cross-linking to the next product put over it.(within the system). It may have a curing property to it but that isn't the catylist's primary function in epoxy. You can let it set for a week mixed up in a sealed container without it setting up. BUT,it no longer has it's other properties anymore.Throw it out.On the tech sheet it should have a time limit for effective use.PPG's does.

It will say on the can if it has an opened or unopened shelf life. Far as I know 175 lasts indefinitely. I refrigerate mine just to be sure. To answer your question, I have done what you plan to do with no problems. Topcoat hardener is a different matter.
