Has anyone tried Magnet Paints? Just saw their ad in Farm Collector magazine. Wondering how their Magnatron 5000 or Magnacryl 9000 paints go on and hold up? Specifically wondering about IH colors.
Thanks for any info.

I wanted to try the Magnet paint, but after 2 calls and 3 months later, they would not send sample chips as promised, so I will go with what I know is good,PPG.

Can't say as I have ever heard of it,Cue P. I think CNKS gives some good advise though.Unless you are a born experimenter,I would stay with the stuff that has already been used and abused by the masses. There are enough problems in painting allready, without throwing in another "unknown". We can help you with the mainstream stuff.Good luck whatever you use.

Magnet used to advertise (in the threads) on this site, but I think Kim stopped them. I know nothing about their paint. 9000 is acrylic enamel, 5000 is polyurethane. I would guess the paints are ok, but not having done mail order, it will take some coordination to get what you need. Personally I would rather have the assurance that if I run out of something I can go 5 miles to my dealer and get what I need. In any event you need to check the spec sheets first, and see how the paints are to be used -- I suppose there is a link, I didn't look. I'm not saying not to buy it, just be careful and get everything straight first. As to the colors, that is anyones guess, they could be close, they could be way off.
